Hello!  My name is Julie Lee and I am the K-8 Guidance Counselor.  This is my 11th year as your school counselor and my 27th year in education.  I began my career in the Anna School system, where I taught in the primary grades for 16 years.
This year, at New Bremen Elementary, we are incorportating the Fill Your Bucket program, which promotes kindess and respect given to others.  Students are being guided to choose making someone's day brighter by being a bucket filler.  As we progress through the year, my hope is that the terminology and the application of kindness will filter into your home.
I look forward to getting to know you and your children throughout the year. Please feel free to contact me at school, 419-629-3244,  if there is anyway I can make your child's year the best it can be.

Classroom Guidance Lessons

K-4 Graders learned the power of being kind through the Fill the Bucket lessons.
Kindergarteners are learning that we all have feeling.  They know that all feelings are alright.
1st Grade had two important lesson.  The first was about every individual being unique and the second was about the importance of using good manners.
2nd Grade lessons in guidance were centered around not judging others, having special qualities and friendship.
3rd Grade just completed lessons on Responsibility.  The catch phrase is "with priviledge comes responsibility".  Another lesson taught students that friendship can happen if you give others a chance.  The upcoming lesson for 3rd graders is on telling vs. tattling.
4th Grader learned about bullying and cliques.  Cliques are different than friendship circles.  One huge difference is friendship circles let others in.
