New Bremen High School will be working on numerous initiatives throughout this school year. Some of the initiatives are carry-overs from last year while others are just beginning. Grade fixes with author Ken O’Connor, Race to the Top through a federal grant, classroom walk-throughs, and formative/summative assessment are all continuations from last year’s work. Piloting end of course exams through ACT, Innovative Stem Grant work, a new Entry Year Teacher/Mentor program, revamping the formal evaluation process for principals and teachers, and beginning the implementation of the new academic content standards are examples of initiatives new for 2011-12.
