WELCOME TO MRS. MILLER'S KINDERGARTEN

This is my 23rd year in Kindergarten!  I count it a privilege to be a Kindergarten teacher.  I love being part of this exciting time in the life of a child.  I tell my students that, just as a butterfly hatches from an egg, they too, have hatched into little kindergarteners.  Through the school year, they will learn many new things, grow bigger, and become stronger in all their skills just as a caterpillar munches on leaves and grows.  Late in the school year when they are bigger, they will grow their wings and be ready to fly on to First Grade!  No matter what grade they are in or after they graduate from high school, I will always be their Kindergarten teacher.  I look forward to working together with our parents to help each child have a successful year with many happy memories.

Field Trip To Brumbaugh Farm

The tours at Brumbaugh are just right for kindergarteners. Our guides showed us how apples are harvested for selling.  We learned how to carefully pick apples without bruising them. We watched an apple sorting machine sort the apples into large, medium, and small sizes.  We learned how bees help apples and pumpkins grow and how people can safely gather honey from the hive.

After eating our lunches, we explored all the play areas.  Following our field trip, each child created a page for our class experience story.  Our book will be on display during parent teacher conferences.  Each child will have a turn to bring our book home to share with their families after conferences are over.
